Hobby and adventure
People have hobbies in which they are practically in love so much that they sometimes challenge themselves  by starting an adventure. They sail seas, travel around the world by foot, bike, car, truck, they climb the mountain peaks, etc. I'm in love with poker, enjoy playing it, earnings is not too much important as long as it doesn't generate loss, and I've decided to challenge my skills - start an adventure, reaching the Supernova VIP status at Poker Stars. This journey is starting today.

Why Poker Stars, why Supernova status and what is Supernova status after all?
My favourite poker form is Texas Hold'em No Limit Sit 'n' Go with 9 players. I played it successfully on all buy-ins up to $100. Since, because of my personal needs I had to withdraw all my money from the online poker world, I've decided to reserve the minimum necessary amount and restart my play.

I looked around for the usual number of sit 'n' go tournaments of any buy-in  that are being played at time when I play and I noticed that only at FullTilt Poker and Poker Stars I can count on decent volume of tournaments when bankroll would provide me playing tournaments of higher buy-ins. Differences in traffic between these two rooms are really small, and the only  difference is that  at FullTilt Pokeru I can obtain the rake back (return of part of a paid fee, 27%), while at Poker Stars there is no classical rake back. Instead of that, Poker Stars has  VIP levels that rise with the amount paid as fee.

While climbing the VIP levels, cash rewards and bonuses are obtained and those can be considered as some form of returned amount of fees paid. In the beginning those amounts are small, but they are rising as climbing the VIP levels. When the VIP level and bankroll are achieved so $20 and more can be played, then cash rewards and bonuses are more than 27% of paid fee, and besides of that, it is possible to enter the tournaments with large prize pool. The final goal is achieving the Supernova VIP level which provides significant money awards, free entrances to the weekly $30.000 tournament,  monthly $100.000 tournament, quarterly $1.000.000 tournament, playing WSOP, EPT, WCOOP, etc.

Which tools will I use?
I'll simultaneously play few tables and since I don't have 2 monitors, I'll use the Table Ninja. For hand tracking and success improvement I'll use the Holdem Manager. Endgame analysis will be done with Sit 'n' Go Wizzard. Each software is licensed.

How will bankroll be built?
Since my goal isn't withdrawing money from poker earnings, whole earnings, including bonuses and awards are entered into the bankroll in order of conquesting the final goal Supernova VIP level as soon as possible. For climbing through buy-ins I'll use the incremental bankroll requests:
  • for playing buy-ins $5+$0.50 I'll reserve 30 buy-ins, $165 to begin this adventure,
  • for playing buy-ins $10+$1 I'll need the bankroll of $440, so 40 buy-ins,
  • for playing buy-ins $20+$2 I'll need the bankroll of $1.100, so 50 buy-ins,
  • for playing buy-ins $30+$3 I'll need the bankroll of $2.475, so 75 buy-ins,
  • for playing buy-ins $50+$5 I'll need the bankroll of $5.500, so 100 buy-ins,
  • for playing buy-ins $100+$9 I'll need the bankroll of $16.350, so 150 buy-ins,
  • for playing buy-ins $200+$15 I'll need the bankroll of $43.000, so 200 buy-ins.

How much earnings do I expect?
Based upon my experience and abilities I can pretty accurately estimate earnings flow by buy-ins:
  • at buyins $5+$0,50 I expect ROI at least 12 %,
  • at buyins $10+$1 I expect ROI at least 8 %,
  • at buyins $20+$2 I expect ROI at least 6 %,
  • at buyins $30+$3 I expect ROI at least 4 %,
  • at buyins $50+$5 I expect ROI at least 2 %,
  • at buyins $100+$9 I expect ROI at least 1 %.

How many tournaments I have to play to reach the next buy-in?
Considering ROI and bankroll demands, for reaching the next buy-in I'll have to play at most:
    • 400 tournaments with buy-ins $5 + $0,50
    • 640 tournaments with buy-ins $10 + $1
    • 800 tournaments with buy-ins $20 + $2
    • 1.620 tournaments with buy-ins $30 + $3
    • 4.810 tournaments with buy-ins $50 + $5
    • 120 tournaments with buy-ins $100 + $9 to reach the Supernova VIP level.

When, how and how much will I play?
I'll play 5 tournaments simultaneously. When one tournament is over, I'll start another one. At Fridays and Saturdays I'll play 20 tournaments, while at other days I'll play 10 tournaments. At least one day of the week will be reserved for rest and that day cannot be Friday or Saturday. I'll play after 9:30 PM CET.
