At the MTT and  Sit 'n' Go tournaments, at cash tables I frequently encounter with limpers, players who only call ahead of me.

I was always interested to know which pot odds do I have to get to limp behind with my had, so my decision would be profitable. Because of that for each starting hand I calculated with several conditions that must be fulfilled after the flop. Those conditions were at least:

  • two pairs or better,
  • drawing nut flush,
  • drawing 2nd nut flush,
  • drawing straight with 6 or 8 outs,
  • two overcards, no pair and no flush or straight draw at the table
Calculated number of acceptable situations was put  in relationship with the 19.600 possible situations and ratios are shown in the table:

Numbers in the table for each hand show which the lowest pot odds  is needed to call with that hand. Of course, in this case I am ignoring the posibility that one or more players behind  might raise.
