My compliments to the SAGE system for the Heads Up play, but since my nature is kind of exploring type, especially to maths, I made my own system for the Heads Up phase. I wanted to know how large must be the effective stack so PUSH or CALL (calling the PUSH, not calling the RAISE) would be the correct decision.
For calculation I used the Sit & Go Endgame Tools which was available at its website www.sngegt.com, but authors stopped working at the excellent tool and the website doesn't exist anymore. Now, you can find and download it from the Software section of my blog.
Results of this calculation are shown in the following tables, and show the correct CALL decision depending of effective stack (smaller of two). If you use M as the stack measure then you'll find the largest M for the specific hand in this table:
If you use xBB as the stack measure then you'll find the largest xBB for the specific hand in this table:
Example:
The opponent pushed his chips. First we determine the effective stack and that is our 630 chips. Since BB is 60, the ratio of effective stack and BB equals 630 / 60 = 10,5. We hold 76o and we search in the table how high may be that ratio so our CALL would be correct. In the table says 3,8 and our correct decision is FOLD.
Suppose that we are in the same situation, but now the question is which hands are good for CALLing? From the table we are reading values greater than 10,5 and those are:
22+, Ax, K2s+, K6o+, Q8s+, QTo+, JTs
Tables for PUSHing are coming soon.
